officials of key Departments. In order to place the LIF in context of the LSDGs Themes, targets and make it of value to
the participants, the workshop had three components in it:
(a) Understanding Themes, Targets and LIF;
(b) Deliberations and thematic exercise with Block and District officials and GPs on how to do resource
mapping for LSDGs,
(c) Activity mapping for LSDGs. The National Committee on PDI for Localising SDGs participated in the 2-
day deliberations, interacting with the GP Presidents and GP Secretaries, District and Block Officials and
undertook a field visit to a village and examined data availability at GP level on the 3rd day.
Workshop Objectives:
The 2-day consultative workshop at YASHADA was planned to obtain the views of GPs on the LIF, orient them to
Targets and Indicators, facilitate to carry out Resource Mapping considering various schemes & Departments,
identifying purpose/objective resources, programme components and mechanism of current work, and correlate to
Theme of Sankalp and evolve common ground for working on a whole of government approach and enhancing resource
efficiency and convergent action. Identifying partners and further engagement strategy with them was explored as next
step for furthering whole of society approach. These were included in the Workshop, as it would also give the
opportunity to further the LSDGs in and by the GPs. The workshop was consultative and participatory in nature where
participants shared their ideas with Committee members.
Participation:
The 2-day workshop was attended by GP Presidents and Secretaries along with SIRD Maharashtra Faculty members and
UNICEF representatives, Block and District level officers along with UNICEF officials. During the field visit
Committee interacted with stakeholders from Jambhul GP in Pune district. Committee had detailed discussions with
school teachers/HM, AWWs, ASHA worker, women SHG members, GP ERs and functionaries. Field visit
had provided an opportunity not only to have one to one communication with those who are data keepers but
also refer records maintained by them in their respective domains.
5 PDI Committee Members participated in the workshop as mentors and facilitators, and for learning the
ground realities. The members were Ms. Jayashree Raghunandan, Mr. Mitter Sain, Dr. Mallinath Kalshetti, Dr.
Sanjay Kumar, and Mr. Pabitra Kalita.
